What to choose and what to avoid in your sunscreen

What to choose and what to avoid in your sunscreen:

1. choose Zinc with or without Titanium Dioxide (aka Mineral Sunscreen or Physical Sunscreen)

2 Avoid chemical sunscreen (chemical sunscreen=anything other than: Zinc or Titanium Dioxide)...these are the only 2 ingredients that are “Generally Recognized as Safe and Effective” (GRASE) by the FDA.

Pretty simple, but why?

Mineral/Physical sunscreens are better for sensitive skin, do not absorb into your bloodstream within 2 hours of application, and are not known to cause cause harm to the coral reefs.

Chemical sunscreens are worse for sensitive skin, absorb into your bloodstream within 2 hours of application, and are known to cause cause harm to the coral reefs.

Keep it simple, look for Active Ingredients: (Zinc, with or without Titanium Dioxide)...avoid all other ingredients to best protect yourself and the environment.
